Otibeguni is looking to expand its folklore collection efforts into two new areas:
- Bangladeshi Mazar Culture
- Bangladeshi Bihari Culture
We are looking for field researchers who will visit various sites and document folktales and legends associated with people and places relevant to these cultures. These field trips will not last more than 7 days at a time and require a tangible deliverible as an outcome. Preference will be given to shorter trips and larger proposals need to be broken down into multiple smaller trips.
Responsibilities
Submit a proposed trip plan comprising of the following:
- Trip Itinerary
- Identified local contacts
- Draft interview questions
- Research topics
- Deliverables
- Conduct on-site interviews of local people who follow these cultural traditions.
- Document oral stories that have been passed down for generations among members of these cultures.
- Document non-historical legends about people, places and objects with supernatural features.
Renumeration
- Otibeguni will pay for transportation and lodging costs during the field trip.
- Otibeguni will pay for hiring any local guides to help with trip.
- Otibeguni will renumerate the interviewees for their time.
- Payment for the researcher will be based on the proposed trip plan. Trips that require complicated logistics, or lack access to subject-matter experts will be paid a larger sum.
